After Dot’s school, we were walking back to her grandma’s (my mom’s) place. As we walked, I saw the roots protruding out from the ground. Pointing at the roots, I asked Dot, “What are all these?” “I don’t know, ” she replied.
There and then, I shared with her briefly about the various parts of the trees and their functions. We went to a tall tree and Dot touched the rough bark of the tree trunk. I told her that cinnamon is also the bark of a tree.
A few metres away, I spotted two huge trunks which were being uprooted. What a great opportunity to bring Dot up close to look and examine the trunks and roots.
We can learn everywhere and anytime, like what we just did.
