On the last Saturday of 2012, we brought our niece, nephew and Dot to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve in the morning. Then we went to AMK Hub for lunch and after that their dad came and picked them.

We shopped for our groceries and were ready to head home. As we were walking through the busy underpass at AMK, my girl saw an uncle on wheelchair selling tissues, she pointed at him and pulled me towards him, urging me to buy something from him.

As I did not carry any money with me, I said,”Mommy don’t have money. The money is with papa.”

When we moved up the escalator to the MRT control station, I told J who was waiting for us that Dot wanted to buy tissues from the uncle in the underpass.

J took out a dollar coin gave it to Dot. We went down the escalator again with Dot grasping the coin in her hand.

Happily, she walked towards the uncle, gave him the coin and took the three packets of tissues.

It warmed my heart to see a smile on the uncle’s face, all because a child wanted to buy tissues.

I took this picture on 11 Mar 2012 when Dot was about 25 month old. She was so fascinated by the uncle playing Er-Hu just outside Tiong Bahru Plaza. Seeing a little girl watching him, he even played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for her. Later, Dot dropped a coin into the box for him.
